Handmade or antique wooden boxes offer a rustic vessel option- perfect for fall and winter centerpieces. You can make boxes watertight by lining with plastic or placing a smaller container within the box. For this example pictured, try clipping a few branches from your yard to arrange. You can wrap them in paper or leave branches freeform for a beautiful and simple statement piece. Pine, dried flowers, and crispy foliage work well out of water.
